Go Green this St. Patrick’s Day
St. Patrick’s Day is just a week away. Whether you are Irish or not, its still a day for celebration and to revel in the joy of family and friends. According to the National Retail Federation, this year $5.61 Billion will be spent by consumers. With just over 55% of the population celebrating, its worth it to add a little festive flair to your place of business. Guests will appreciate it because at the end of the day, we are all still looking for the pot of gold.
Speciality Dish or Drink
If you run a restaurant, cafe or coffee shop, come up with a fun and festive drink or dish to allow guests to partake in the day full of green. You don’t have to serve green beer, there are tons of classic Irish dishes you can add your own spin to. Maybe its just offering an Irish Mule, Four Leaf Clover Coffee or Guinness and Chocolate Cake. It doesn’t have to be over the top to be fun.
Festive Music
For one day, change up your play list. Everyone can use a little Irish music in their life. Its happy, its fun and after listening for just 30 minutes, guests will want to get up do the Stepdance.
Lucky Decorations
Its easy to add some simple decorations to your business decor. Switch out chalkboard art with an Irish quote. Add a real Clover plant at the hostess stand or check out. Add a little of bucket of chocolate coins near your Point of Sale system so your customer’s can grab one on their way out.
Fun for Everyone
For casual restaurants, cafes or coffee shops, update kids menus with fun St. Patrick’s Day coloring sheets that you can find online.
Hide something like a chocolate gold coin, a rainbow eraser, or something else festive within your business. Whoever ends up finding it gets a complimentary treat. Post this fun activity at the front on a sandwich board or chalkboard for your guests to see when they arrive.
Luck o’ the Irish
Promote your festive offerings on your social media pages, via your e-mail list and in your restaurant leading up to the holiday. Add an incentive to visit your business by offering a limited recipe item or special to the first 17 people who visit. Or randomly award the 17th or 117th (or you can pick) customer with a gift certificate to come back. Who will be the lucky winner of your business St. Patrick’s Day contest? Only the Luck o’ the Irish will tell.
Whether you go all out for St. Patrick’s Day or do something low key, make sure you have fun.
