Served Up: Restaurant Group Turns on a Dime.
In the mood for gourmet yet casual California cuisine? Or a top tier steakhouse? Maybe you are craving oysters? Lucky for you, you can satisfy your tastebuds at one of the seven Starks’s Reality Restaurants.
With five restaurants in Santa Rosa and two in Healdsburg, the Stark’s group of restaurants are all individually unique and delicious. And like most restaurants, they have recently faced trying times.
One of their restaurants (Willi’s Wine Bar) burned down in the 2017 Tubbs Fire, which they thankfully reopened to a new location in 2019. They also had just opened their newest location, Grossman’s Noshery & Bar, in March just as Covid-19 was shutting down businesses throughout the Bay Area and beyond.
However, as leaders in the Sonoma County restaurant scene, the Starks did not let grass grow under their feet for long before they recalibrated their businesses.
In order to accommodate and quickly launch take out and curbside pick-up, the Starks restaurants swiftly integrated our technology to create an online ordering platform across all of their restaurants.
Our phone lines were ringing non-stop and it could be hard for customers to get through and place orders. We needed to create an online ordering experience that could increase efficiency and was also easy for our guests to use.

A One Stop Shop
With our help, their restaurants deployed a user friendly ordering page on each of their websites. A scaled back menu was available on each site to also provide a streamlined order flow. Updated hours, reopening dates and menu changes were easily edited as needed to each ordering site.
On premise dining will always be a huge revenue center, yet the restaurant group doesn’t see themselves ever walking away from having an online ordering capability.
While many guests have already resumed dining in with us, we want to continue to offer as many ways to order our food as possible, and keeping online ordering is one of them.

Primed for the Future
While in the middle of reopening their restaurants for inside dining, we asked what one of their key learnings would be from all of this. Their answer? “Be Flexible”. All of their restaurants are different and a one size fits all approach doesn’t work. Each business had to adapt to the challenges they faced differently but this made them able to position themselves to tackle potential new hurdles down the road.
